Kara Gut


Kara Gut (b. 1989, Cleveland, Ohio, USA) is a multidisciplinary artist whose primary focus is image-based, digital media. She received an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2016 and is the recipient of the Cranbrook Art Museum Committee Acquisition Prize, the Firestone Photography Award, and the Peter MacKendrick Endowment Fund for Visual Artists. Her recent solo shows include Crystal Magic Weapon at Open Space, Baltimore, Maryland, and Presence at IRL Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Recent group shows include LaCroix Digital Oasis at the Chromatic Festival in Montreal, Canada, Resonant Flesh at Wick Gallery in Bushwick, NYC, and Pixel at Granite City Art and Design District, Granite City, IL. Her work has been featured by Refigural Magazine, The Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography, and most recently, the 2019 Milan Machinima Festival. Kara currently lives and works in Columbus, Ohio.
