Elise R. Peterson (b. 1988 Washington, D.C.) is an artist, writer and educator living and working in New York. Her visual work primarily utilizes video collage, 35mm film and recorded conversations to explore evolving notions of blackness and technology. Post her studies in Graphic Design at Parsons School of Design, she produced her most widely received work in the digital collage series Black Folk. She is passionate about storytelling and creating spaces that allow for open dialogue aimed at exploring identity, intimacy, power and sexuality as it relates to marginalized communities.
