'Activity Playlist' is a series of video works that takes its conceptual basis and form from playlists of the same name created by streaming music services like Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. The videos seek to give visual form to the themes and moods presented in their musical playlist counterparts. They are meant to be displayed as looped video with no audio to allow the user to play their preferred music and curate their own overall experience. The videos function similarly to a virtual fireplace, in that they are meant to be experienced in passing as mood setting visuals. Conceptually the videos investigate the visual culture and symbolism we use to express intangible emotions and moods by using the internet as their source material. Stock images and home movies have been repurposed and combined to create layered visual lava lamps.
