Throughout 6 sound works, Lina Lapelyte uses her work Hunky Bluff and its documentation from the Serpentine Pavilion as a source material. Each of the 6 tracks is one act from the original performance remixed into a new work incorporating the sounds of documentation within the space.

Hunky Bluff is an opera and performance work deconstructing the arias (expressive melody for one voice) originally written for and sung by castrato (a type of classical male singing voice) singers. Hunky Bluff is performed by a specially selected, all-female group of performers with low voices. The work reflects upon femininity and gender, part of Lapelyte’s ongoing research into the female voice and ageing.
